Reno Source, LLC (“Reno Source,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the “Services”). Reno Source is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with the comprehensive consumer privacy laws of all U.S. states in which we do business. Please see “State-Specific Rights” below for additional information about how this Privacy Policy applies to residents of particular states. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Personal Information We Collect or Process

When we use the term “personal information” (or “personal data,” as some state laws define it), we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. Personal information does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified, so that it cannot identify or be reasonably linked to you. We may collect or process the following categories of personal information, including inferences drawn from this personal information, depending on how you interact with the Services, where you live, and as permitted or required by applicable law:

Contact details including your name, address, billing address, shipping address, phone number (including for SMS marketing where you have opted in), and email address.

Financial information including credit card, debit card, and financial account numbers, payment card information, financial account information, transaction details, form of payment, payment confirmation and other payment details.

Account information including your username, password, security questions, preferences, settings, and wishlist contents.

Transaction information including the items you view, put in your cart, add to your wishlist, or purchase, return, exchange or cancel and your past transactions.

Communications with us including the information you include in customer support tickets, live chat conversations, phone calls, SMS messages, product reviews, and email correspondence.

Device information including information about your device, browser, or network connection, your IP address, and other unique identifiers.

Usage and behavioral information including information regarding your interaction with the Services. This includes pages visited, navigation paths, time spent, clicks, mouse movements, scroll behavior, and similar interactions captured through analytics, heatmap, and session-recording tools. See “Session Recording and Heatmaps” below.

Quiz, form, and survey responses including responses you provide through interactive quizzes, custom forms, surveys, and email-capture experiences on our Services.

Review and user-generated content including product reviews, ratings, photos, and other content you submit.

Identity-resolution data including email addresses and related contact information that our marketing partners may associate with your visits to our Services based on activity across other websites and merchants. See “Identity Resolution & Cross-Context Marketing” below.

SMS opt-in records including phone numbers, the date and method of your opt-in, the specific disclosure you agreed to, message engagement history, and opt-out records. See “SMS / Text Message Marketing” below.

Creator and affiliate information if you apply to our affiliate, creator, or trade programs, including business name, tax information, social media handles, audience metrics, and payment details.

Sensitive Personal Information / Sensitive Data

“Sensitive personal information” under the California Consumer Privacy Act and “sensitive data” under other state privacy laws includes categories such as government IDs, precise geolocation, financial account credentials, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, mental or physical health diagnoses, citizenship or immigration status, contents of communications, genetic or biometric data, information about sex life or sexual orientation, and personal data of a known child.

Reno Source collects only payment card information (processed through Shopify Payments and other PCI-compliant processors) and account credentials that fall within these categories. We do not use, disclose, sell, or share sensitive personal information for purposes of inferring characteristics about you, for targeted advertising, or for any other purpose that would require opt-in consent or a separate opt-out mechanism under applicable state law. We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation, biometric data, health data, or other categories of sensitive data.

If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and obtain opt-in consent (in states that require it, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Montana, Tennessee, Delaware, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana, and Rhode Island) or provide the required opt-out mechanism (in California) before processing sensitive data for any new purpose.

Maryland residents: Consistent with the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, we do not sell sensitive personal data and we will not collect or process sensitive data beyond what is reasonably necessary and proportionate to provide or maintain the specific product or service you request.

Personal Information Sources

We may collect personal information from the following sources:

      Directly from you including when you create an account, place an order, sign up for our email or SMS list, complete a quiz or form, submit a review, contact customer support, or otherwise provide us with your personal information;

      Automatically through the Services including from your device when you use our products or visit our websites, and through the use of cookies, pixels, session-recording technologies, and similar technologies;

      From our service providers and processors including Shopify, payment processors, fulfillment partners, customer support tools, analytics vendors, and the apps listed in the “Service Providers” table below;

      From our advertising and identity-resolution partners including third parties that match website visitors to email addresses or other contact information using data they or others have collected across other websites and merchants;

From our other partners or third parties including social media platforms, advertising networks, and publicly available sources.

How We Use Your Personal Information

Depending on how you interact with us or which of the Services you use, we may use personal information for the following purposes:

Provide, Tailor, and Improve the Services. To provide you with the Services, perform our contract with you, process payments, fulfill orders, remember preferences, send transactional notifications, manage your account, arrange shipping, facilitate returns and exchanges, enable you to post reviews, run quizzes and surveys, and create a customized shopping experience. This may include analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings.

Marketing and Advertising. To send marketing, advertising and promotional communications by email, text message (SMS), or postal mail, and to show you online advertisements on the Services or other websites. This includes cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, identity-resolution-based email marketing, and SMS marketing as described in the dedicated sections below.

Security and Fraud Prevention. To authenticate your account, provide a secure payment and shopping experience, detect, investigate or take action regarding possible fraudulent, illegal, unsafe, or malicious activity, protect public safety, and to secure our Services.

Communicating with You. To provide customer support (including through AI-assisted tools), be responsive to you, provide effective Services to you, and maintain our business relationship with you.

Trade, Affiliate, and Creator Programs. To administer applications, manage participation, calculate commissions, and communicate with members of our trade, affiliate, and creator programs.

Legal Reasons. To comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies; to investigate or participate in civil discovery, potential or actual litigation, or other adversarial legal proceedings; and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.

We do not use your personal information for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (such as decisions about credit, insurance, housing, education, employment, or essential goods or services). We do not engage in “profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects” as that term is defined under applicable state privacy laws.

Session Recording and Heatmaps

We use session-recording and heatmap technology, provided by Heatmap.com, to better understand how visitors use our Services. These tools record information about your interactions with our website, including pages viewed, clicks, scroll behavior, mouse movements, and the time you spend on each page. They may also record information you type into non-sensitive form fields, but they are configured to mask or exclude payment card numbers, passwords, and other sensitive information.

This information is used to identify usability issues, improve site design, and optimize the shopping experience. It is not used to identify you personally, although in some cases the recorded session may be associated with your account or order if you complete a purchase or log in during the session.

You can opt out of session recording and heatmap data collection by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, by submitting an opt-out request through our opt-out page, or by using browser extensions that block these technologies.

How We Disclose Personal Information

In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy. Such circumstances may include:

With Shopify, vendors, and other service providers or processors who perform services on our behalf (see “Service Providers and Sub-Processors” below for a current list).

With business, advertising, and marketing partners, including Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics 4), Klaviyo, Triple Whale, Retention.com, and OuterSignal, to deliver advertising, measure performance, and support email and SMS marketing. These partners use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices.

With Postscript, our SMS service provider, and with telecommunications carriers and aggregators that deliver SMS messages on our behalf. Phone numbers collected for SMS marketing are not sold, rented, leased, or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

When you direct, request, or otherwise consent to our disclosure of certain information to third parties, such as to ship you products or through your use of social media widgets or login integrations.

With our affiliates or otherwise within our corporate group.

In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy, to comply with any applicable legal obligations (including to respond to subpoenas, search warrants and similar requests), to enforce any applicable terms of service or policies, and to protect or defend the Services, our rights, and the rights of our users or others.

Service Providers and Sub-Processors

We use the following third-party service providers and sub-processors to operate the Services. This list is current as of the “Last updated” date above and may change over time. Each provider processes your personal information only as needed to perform its services and in accordance with its own privacy policy. Identity Resolution & Cross-Context Marketing

When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email address. We (or service providers acting on our behalf) may then send marketing or promotional communications to those email addresses, even if you did not directly provide your email to us. This practice is sometimes called “identity resolution.” Our current identity-resolution partners include Retention.com and OuterSignal.

You may opt out of Retention.com’s identity-resolution advertising at https://app.retention.com/optout. To opt out of OuterSignal’s visitor identification on our Services, email support@renosource.co with the subject line “OuterSignal Opt-Out.”

Under California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, and other applicable state privacy laws, this practice may constitute a “sale,” “share,” or “targeted advertising” activity for which you have a right to opt out. You can also opt out by submitting a request through our general opt-out page or by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.

SMS / Text Message Marketing

We operate an SMS marketing program in partnership with Postscript, our SMS service provider. If you opt in to receive text messages from us, the following terms describe how we collect, use, and disclose your phone number and related information.

How we collect your phone number. We collect phone numbers when you affirmatively opt in to our SMS program through a popup on our website, at checkout, or through another point of collection where we clearly disclose that you will receive marketing text messages. Our SMS opt-in is separate from our email opt-in; opting in to one does not opt you in to the other. We do not purchase phone numbers from third parties for SMS marketing, and we do not enroll you in SMS marketing without your express written consent.

What messages we send. When you opt in, you agree to receive recurring auto-dialed marketing SMS messages from Reno Source, which may include promotional offers, new product announcements, restock notifications, abandoned cart reminders, and other marketing communications. Messages may include AI-generated content or use of artificial or prerecorded voices where applicable. Message frequency varies.

Consent is not required to purchase. You are never required to consent to SMS marketing as a condition of purchasing any product or service from us.

Carrier charges. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your wireless carrier and plan. We are not responsible for these charges.

How to opt out. You may opt out of our SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you reply STOP, we will send one final message confirming your opt-out. You may also email support@renosource.co to request removal from our SMS list.

How to get help. Reply HELP to any message to receive information about the program and contact details. You can also reach us at support@renosource.co or 702-900-RENO (7366).

How we use your phone number. We use your phone number to send the SMS communications described above, to confirm your opt-in and opt-out, to respond to support inquiries, to deliver transactional notifications related to your orders, and to comply with applicable law. Where you provide your phone number at checkout, we may also use it for shipping and order-related communications regardless of whether you opt in to marketing SMS.

How we disclose your phone number. We share your phone number with Postscript, our SMS service provider, and with telecommunications carriers and aggregators that deliver messages on our behalf. We do not sell your phone number, and we do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Mobile information collected through our SMS marketing program is not sold, rented, leased, or shared with affiliates or third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in consent does not extend to any third party.

Retention. We retain your phone number and SMS engagement data for as long as you remain opted in, and for up to 24 months after your last engagement or opt-out (whichever is later) to maintain compliance records, including proof of consent. We may retain certain records (such as proof of consent) longer where required by law, typically for at least 4 years to align with the federal TCPA statute of limitations.

Your rights. All of the rights described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy (access, delete, correct, portability, opt-out, and appeal) apply to phone numbers and SMS data. To exercise these rights, see the “Your Rights and Choices” section.

For full SMS program terms, see our SMS Terms of Service at https://terms.pscr.pt/legal/shop/reno-source/terms_of_service. For Postscript’s privacy policy, see https://postscript.io/privacy.

Data Retention

How long we retain your personal information depends on whether we need the information to maintain your account, provide you with Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce other applicable contracts and policies. Our general retention periods are:

Customer account information: for the life of your account plus up to 7 years after closure (tax and audit recordkeeping).

Session recordings and heatmap data (Heatmap.com): retained for up to 90 days, after which recordings are deleted.

Advertising cookies and identifiers (Meta Pixel, Google Ads): retained per each platform’s policy, typically 13 months unless you opt out earlier.

Identity-resolution data (Retention.com, OuterSignal): purged within 30 days of an opt-out request.

Quiz, form, and review submissions: retained for as long as the related account or content is active, plus up to 3 years.

Backups: secure backups may retain data for an additional period not to exceed 90 days after the primary deletion.

We will retain personal information longer than the periods above where required by law, where necessary to defend legal claims, or where we have an overriding legitimate interest. Consistent with the data-minimization principles of Maryland, Oregon, and other state privacy laws, we limit our collection of personal data to what is reasonably necessary and proportionate to provide or maintain the Services or to the specific purpose for which you provide it.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve the Services for you. Information you submit to the Services will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify as well as third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside. To help protect, grow, and improve our business, we use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data and information obtained from your interactions with our store, along with other merchants and with Shopify. In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information.

To learn more about how Shopify uses your personal information and any rights you may have, you can visit the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. Depending on where you live, you may exercise certain rights with respect to your personal information through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Financial Incentives and Loyalty Programs

From time to time, we offer discounts, promotional codes (such as EARLY15), early-access offers, and other incentives in exchange for your email address, phone number, or other contact information. Under California, Colorado, and other state privacy laws, these may be considered “financial incentives” or “bona fide loyalty programs” for the collection, retention, or use of your personal information.

Material terms: By signing up, you provide your email address or phone number (and, optionally, additional contact information) and consent to receive marketing emails or text messages from us. You receive the stated discount or promotional benefit. You may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing from email, replying STOP to SMS messages, or by contacting us.

How we calculate the value: We have made a good-faith estimate of the value of your personal information based on the average customer lifetime value attributable to email and SMS subscribers compared to non-subscribers. We believe the value of the discount or benefit offered is reasonably related to the value of the data provided.

Right to withdraw: You may withdraw from any financial incentive program at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, replying STOP to any SMS message, or by emailing support@renosource.co. Withdrawal does not retroactively cancel benefits you have already received.

Third Party Websites and Links

The Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, including information you share on third-party social networking platforms, may also be viewable by other users of the Services and/or users of those third-party platforms without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators, except as disclosed on the Services.

Children’s Data

The Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children. Where we have actual knowledge that a user is under the age of 18, we do not sell or share their personal data, process it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling. We do not knowingly enroll any person under the age of 18 in our SMS marketing program. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the contact details set out below to request that it be deleted. As of the Effective Date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we “share” or “sell” (as those terms are defined in applicable law) personal information of individuals under 16 years of age, and we do not direct the Services to minors.

Security of Your Information

Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee “perfect security.” In addition, any information you send to us may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to communicate sensitive or confidential information to us. We have implemented reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we process.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights listed below in relation to your personal information. However, these rights are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances and, in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law.

Right to Access / Know. You may have a right to request access to personal information that we hold about you, including the categories of personal information collected, the sources, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it and, in some states, the specific third parties to which we have disclosed it.

Right to Delete. You may have a right to request that we delete personal information we maintain about you.

Right to Correct. You may have a right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

Right to Data Portability. You may have a right to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you in a portable, and (to the extent technically feasible) readily usable format, and to request that we transfer it to a third party in certain circumstances.

Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. Depending on where you reside, you may have a right to opt out of the “sale” or “share” of your personal information as those terms are defined in applicable privacy laws.

Right to Opt Out of Targeted Advertising. You may have a right to opt out of the processing of your personal information for the purposes of “targeted advertising,” as defined under state privacy laws including those of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Tennessee, Delaware, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana, and Rhode Island.

Right to Opt Out of Profiling. You may have a right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. As stated above, Reno Source does not engage in this type of profiling.

Right to Opt Out of SMS Marketing. You may opt out of our SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive. See the “SMS / Text Message Marketing” section for details.

Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information / Right to Consent. As described in the “Sensitive Personal Information / Sensitive Data” section, Reno Source does not use sensitive personal information or sensitive data for purposes that require a separate opt-out or opt-in mechanism. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide the required mechanism before processing such data for new purposes.

Right to Non-Discrimination / Non-Retaliation. We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of these rights. You will not be denied goods or services, charged different prices, or provided a different level of quality solely because you exercised your privacy rights, except where permitted by law in connection with a financial incentive or bona fide loyalty program.

Right to Appeal. If we decline your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response or contacting us at support@renosource.co. We will respond to your appeal in writing within 45 days of receipt (extendable by an additional 60 days where reasonably necessary). If we deny your appeal, we will provide you with the contact information for the relevant state attorney general or other regulatory authority where you may submit a complaint.

Managing Communication Preferences. We may send you promotional emails and SMS messages. You may opt out of email at any time by using the unsubscribe option displayed in our emails to you, and out of SMS by replying STOP. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your account or orders you have made.

You may exercise any of these rights where indicated on the Services or by contacting us using the contact details provided below. We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframes required under applicable law, typically 45 days (with one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary, with notice to you).

Universal Opt-Out Mechanisms (Including Global Privacy Control)

If you visit our website with the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out preference signal or another recognized universal opt-out mechanism enabled, we will treat this as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and the processing of your personal information for targeted advertising, for the device and browser you use to visit the website. We honor universal opt-out mechanisms in every state where they are required or recognized, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Delaware, Montana, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Minnesota, and Maryland. If we are able to associate the device sending the signal to a Shopify account, we will apply the opt-out request to the account as well. To learn more about Global Privacy Control, visit https://globalprivacycontrol.org/. Other than recognized universal opt-out mechanisms, we do not respond to other “Do Not Track” signals.

Authorized Agents and Verification

In accordance with applicable laws, you may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf to exercise your rights. Before accepting such a request from an agent, we will require that the agent provide proof you have authorized them to act on your behalf, and we may need you to verify your identity directly with us. For most requests, we will verify your identity by matching the contact information you provide in your request with information we have on file. For sensitive requests, we may require additional verification.

This section provides additional information for residents of particular U.S. states.

California Residents

In addition to the rights described above, California residents have the right to know the categories of personal information sold or shared in the preceding 12 months and the categories of third parties to whom that information was sold or shared. We do not financially incentivize you to waive any privacy right, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, except in connection with permitted financial incentive programs. To exercise your rights, use the contact methods at the top of this Policy.
